Hi y'all, I'm Carroll, my wife and I helped start the Montana S.O.B.E.R. Project last fall when Pastor Larry and Mark came up. (see the photos on this site). It was all God and we give him glory first and last too. Our meetings are going great and we expect to help start a third one this month in another town church. Anyway, we really got started because our little girl (Melinda) was in the Tuscon group and wouldn't come home without a S.O.B.E.R. group to stick with. I tell you I am learning so much from this too. We weren't addicted to booze or drugs ever so felt so out of touch with those who were until we started having these meetings and figured out we are all addicted to some thing or another. Work is just as addictive as dope and money can be worse. Anything that destroys a family or a person because we can't separate from it is an addiction and a poison. THANK GOD, the solution for one addiction is exactly that same as for another. JESUS CHRIST the one and only answer and cure for it all. Praise Him. Any way thats how we see it and that's how we run it here as well. It don't matter what gets us down; the way up is still JESUS.
We meet at our local church on Monday nights and at noon at another church in town and it looks real good that a third group will start in a few weeks in yet another church at a different time and place to be determined. There are lots of people in this town that are already attending meetings with AA,NA, Celebrate Recovery and some others and so far everyone has said they just like a meeting where they can talk about how Jesus has helped them and what he has done in their lives. It's great. There's room for everybody that wants some. We too stick to the motto 'Want some, come get some" cause it's so true.
Most of the folks coming are already saved but we never get TOO close to Jesus so that's what we try to do. Help us get a little closer than before. And we are getting S.O.B.E.R. PROJECT known around town as well. I pray every one of you have a super S.O.B.E.R. day today and every day forever. God Bless.
